New Hampshire rules for construction debris
New Hampshire's disposal bans are short and aimed at batteries, electronics, yard waste and large food-waste generators. None of them names construction debris, so in New Hampshire what a load may contain is set mostly by each town's transfer station and each hauler.

How the rule is applied
- A facility is not treated as knowingly taking banned batteries or electronics if it posts signs or gives customers written notice; towns, districts and operators must make recycling information available.
- Separated food waste must follow an order of preference: source reduction, feeding people, feeding animals, composting or digestion, then energy recovery without combustion.
- The statute has been amended in 1996, 2005, 2006, 2009, 2023 (effective January 1, 2024) and 2024 (effective July 1, 2025).
The debris these rules touch, by weight
A loose cubic yard of mixed yard waste weighs 250 lb. None of them would push a level-full 20-yard past the 4-ton low end of Republic Services' allowance. One 8-ft pickup bed holds about 2.5 cubic yards, or 625 lb of mixed yard waste.
